In these uncertain times, the one undeniable truth is that NAMI is needed now more than ever. Now is the time to make sure that NAMI’s education, advocacy and support services continue to be available to individuals and families effected by mental illness.  With budget cuts in mental health services more people will continue to fall through the cracks.

In spite of the trends, NAMI supporters stepped up their support during the 3rd Annual Walk in March 2009 and contributed approximately $178,000 to enable the local affiliate to continue providing services totally free to those that need them.  The 4th Annual NAMIWalks – Changing Minds, One Step at a Time will once again create awareness and reduce stigma.  We anticipate a bigger crowd and hope to surpass the 2009 contributions.

Please do what you can……help us to find local sponsors, form a team, walk as an individual, donate to a walker, help us secure food/refreshments for the event or volunteer to help the day of the event!  We need your help to keep us strong in spite of all the turmoil!

NAMIWALKS---Changing Minds...One Step at a Time is a nationwide fundraising and mental health awareness program that is being held in more than 70 communities around the country in 2009 including right here in Tucson. Money raised in 2009 goes towards our educational, support and advocacy programs it provides to families.
